Working though my normal workload, I noticed a note from a year ago saying that the supplier no longer wanted to make this part. With that, I reached out to our Supply Chain Planning Engineer (SPE) to notify them of this. When we reached out to the supplier, we were informed that they had requested several parts to be resourced to another supplier due to them no longer being within the work expertise of the supplier. We later discovered that this was a resourcing project that never gotten addressed. The SPE and I worked with the supplier to get a buffer built to cover production needs for the one quarter as these 27 part numbers were resourced to a new supplier. We were also able to escalate and push to get this resourcing projected more priority so we would have a new supplier by the time our buffer ran out.
